Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?

Feel free to google our address 1300 W. Shaw Ave., Suite 3A, Fresno, CA 93711. My cross streets are Shaw/Fruit.

Do you offer in-person sessions? What about telehealth sessions?

In-person are preferrable since they are more personal. Telehealth is available if you can’t make it to the office.

How much does it cost for an initial assessment and individual therapy?

Here are my fees: $220 initial assessment & $150 individual therapy session. All sessions are 60 minutes each.

How often do I meet with my therapist?

At least once a week weekly until your goals are met. I don’t want you to be in therapy for FOREVER. Obviously, if you are able to get things resolved in one session, chances are you probably don’t need therapy. Don’t take my word,! It’s been my personal experience and research also supports that weekly psychotherapy sessions contribute to more positive outcomes for clients. Check out this research here:

Lower versus higher frequency of sessions in starting outpatient mental health care and the risk of a chronic course; a naturalistic cohort study

Do you accept insurance?

Yes! I am in network with Calviva MHN, Anthem Blue Cross Medi-cal and Healthnet.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept all major credit cards including Visa and Mastercard. HSA also accepted.

Do you provide a sliding scale?

I do not offer this option at this time.

What is a Superbill?

This is a “special receipt” provided to you after you’ve made payment for your visit, so you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement. It is your responsibility to contact your insurance to see how much you will be reimbursed.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please cancel your session within 48 hours of your scheduled appointment. Most insurances do not cover late cancellations or no-shows, and you may be billed for this time, unless you and your therapist have made prior arrangements. Some exceptions outside the 48 hours are unforeseen illnesses or personal medical emergencies.

What are the advantages of private pay for psychotherapy?

  • You have more confidentiality, flexibility and privacy: You’re personal and clinical information will NOT be shared with third parties. You also have the ability to choose a provider that best suites what you are looking for, rather than someone who has been approved by your insurance.

  • There are no mandatory diagnoses: You are able to get the support you need without a mental health diagnosis, as they are not obligatory. Have a pre-existing condition(s) on your medical health record can impact future employment opportunities, insurance premiums and insurance policies.

  • Continuity of care: You are able to stay with your therapist even if your insurance plan coverage changes.

  • Your therapist is able to focus more on therapy, clinical trainings and consultations to better help you and less on paperwork, as private pay requires less documentation.
